IBAN

Further to the Central Bank of Egypt regulations, effective 30 June 2020, International Bank Account Number (IBAN) was introduced.

IBAN is a bank account number that is recognised by banks and other financial institutions around the world. It's a standardised way of identifying a bank account, which reduces errors and delays in sending international payments.

To ensure that all your transactions are easily processed, kindly be informed that all transfers from or to your account will soon require adding your IBAN. Your existing account number remains valid without any changes.

To learn more about IBAN, please check the IBAN Frequently Asked Questions.

A correct and valid HSBC Egypt account number must be entered to ensure a correct and valid IBAN is generated. Please ensure you type the HSBC account number carefully.

HSBC will not be held liable for any damage or loss of any nature resulting directly or indirectly from entering an incorrect or an invalid account number.

Don’t worry, your account number will only be used to generate an IBAN. We won't share, store or use it for any other purpose. Please remember to keep your personal information safe.
